What is baum?

baum is an AI agent efficiency and provenance platform for software teams. It connects locally recorded coding-agent sessions with GitHub repositories, commits, and pull requests so that teams can understand where AI is being used and what happens to the resulting work.

baum helps answer questions such as:

  • How much of the team’s work involves an AI coding agent?
  • Which repositories and workflows benefit most from agent assistance?
  • What are the token and estimated model costs of that work?
  • How does agent-assisted work move through review and into the codebase?
  • Can a result be traced back to the session that produced it?

At this stage, baum analyses this activity and provides findings that help teams understand how their coding agents are being used. Features that turn those findings into concrete optimisation recommendations are coming soon.

How it works

Developers run the baum CLI on their own machines. The CLI discovers supported local agent sessions, removes detected secrets before data leaves the machine, and uploads the prepared sessions to the baum instance chosen by the team.

The self-hosted baum appliance synchronizes repository metadata from GitHub, links uploaded sessions to development activity, and presents the resulting analytics in its web interface.
