welcome to the docs

Hi, I’m Stumpy. Looking for something?

Search the docs, or start with the basics.

Your data stays local.

What baum keeps on your computer, and the few things that leave it.

There is no baum account and no baum server. baum sends no telemetry, and nothing it stores is ever sent to us.

  • Your agent sessions and their transcripts. baum reads them where Claude Code and Codex already store them.
  • Reviews, answers, decisions, fixes and analytics.
  • Your GitHub sign-in, stored in your operating system’s credential store.

The app talks to its background service only on your own machine. Nothing on your network can reach it.

Destination What and when
GitHub baum reads your repositories and pull requests with your sign-in. It writes to GitHub only when you press a button: merge, update a branch, re-run checks, or push a fix and reply on the review threads it addressed. Report a problem fills in a GitHub issue in your browser, which you submit yourself.
Your agent’s provider Reviews, fixes, answers and decision capture run through your own Claude Code or Codex, under your own plan or account. The agent sends what it needs to its provider (code, the pull request and, for decisions, excerpts of your sessions), as when you use the agent yourself. baum also asks Anthropic and OpenAI how much of your plan is left, with your agent’s own sign-in.
GitHub Releases The app checks once a day for a new version, and connecting an agent downloads the baum plugin from GitHub.

baum hides secrets it recognises, such as API keys and tokens, before it shows a transcript or stores an answer. It catches common formats, not every possible secret.
