welcome to the docs

Hi, I’m Stumpy. Looking for something?

Search the docs, or start with the basics.

Find your way.

The keys and shortcuts that get you anywhere in baum, and where to find help.

Everything in baum works from the keyboard. On Linux, read ⌘ as Ctrl and ⌥ as Alt.

  • Click ? beside Settings in the sidebar, or press ?, to open the help menu: Show shortcuts, Report a problem and Open the docs. Press ? then Enter to see every shortcut for the page you’re on.
  • Hold ⌥ Option to show each key on the page’s buttons.
  • The first time you open baum, a short tour shows you the main pages in a small sample project, so there’s something to see before your own pull requests arrive. To see it again, open Go to (⌘K) and choose Take the tour.
  • When something isn’t working, Check this computer in Settings finds the problem and tells you how to fix it.

If something still isn’t right, choose Report a problem in the help menu, or in Check this computer:

  1. Say what happened. What you did, what you expected and what happened instead.
  2. Choose what to attach. Nothing, Versions only (baum’s, your system’s and each tool’s version), or All diagnostics: a summary of Check this computer with secrets and e-mail addresses masked, and your clones and PATH left out. A preview shows exactly what is included.
  3. Open the issue. baum opens a new issue on GitHub in your browser, filled in with what you chose. The issue is public, so read it before you submit: the summary still lists tool versions and some paths. Nothing is sent until you submit it.
